The 10N 3D Force Sensor is the first truly 3 axis force sensor designed to be in direct contact with the surface. The patented sensor technology is based on a radically new way of measuring forces. Compared to strain-gauge based load cells, these transducers are generally much more robust, as the deforming surfaces are physically separated from the sensing element. In short, infrared light is being used to detect the smallest deformation in the shape of the outer surface. Different kinds of optical grade elastomers have been used to achieve the most reliable results.
- One of the first 3D compliant force sensor: Its complaint surface makes it prone to contact with different sized objects.
- Large sensitive area: The sensing area is the whole surface of the silicone dome.
- Corrosion resistance: The silicone surface also provides excellent corrosion resistance and isolation to external stress.
